Today in class I laser cut a tree out of a piece of paper onto a piece of glass.  Later today I will cut the rest of the box out.

Today in class I worked on trying to image trace my tree with out have spaces or having it to thick.  I am getting some where but it is taking some time.

Today in class I came up with more ideas for a shadow box.  I am going to do one the is triangles that go down in a circle.  Here is a rough draft.

More ideas for mountains

Here is another photo of an idea for a mountain it is more abstract and has a lot of sharp angles.

Here are two different versions that I can do for mountains.  One has a valley with a waterfall and the other is just a mountain range with foothills.  The layers are numbered on the first one and the colors are the same for the layers on the second one.

I am changing my final project to making three to five different shadow boxes.  Shadow boxes are a way to take a picture that has a lot of depth and laser cut it so that it is physical and has different layers that go back.  I will be doing one of a cave with the light at the center.  Then I will do one of mountains where there is a dark blue light towards the bottom like a water fall.  It will have cool white lights at the top like a skyline.  Then I will do one of a forest with a circle light like the moon and smaller lights like the stars.  This one will also have a lake. I am trying to decide weather I want the lake to light up or not.

Today in class I used the cloth feature in Maya to make it seem like a table cloth was being pulled out from under some plates and cups.  Then I also cut the pieces out for my laser cutting project.  The project is finally set up to laser cut.  Here are some pictures of the tablecloth being pulled out from underneath the cups and plates.

Today in class I finished up my project for laser cutting.  I had the teacher check it and it was ready for laser cutting.  I will cut it today during lunch and my third period so I can start assembling it over the weekend.  I was able to figure it out by my self.

Today in class I tried to figure out how to cut a photo in photo shop and put it into illustrator to laser cut it.  This is difficult as I don't know what I am doing.

Today in class I also made a second model of a house I could do.  The left one is the basement, the center one is the second floor, and the right one is the main level.  The basement is open because it can be rearranged for who ever is living there.  The laundry room will be in the basement along with like a playroom or gameroom.

Today in class I made my first rough draft of a house I could do.  It is very rough and not detailed but it gives the general idea.  The left half is floor one and the right side is floor two.  The balcony in floor two overlooks floor one.

Today in class I continued to work on my first building.  Then I learned how to have a camera follow a curve to do a walk through of the house.

Some things that I could do in this class

In this class some things that I can do to reach my big goal is.

• Work on architectural photography
• Learn how to make models out of balsa wood
• Design an original concept design of a house
• Learn how to use a good blueprint software.

Design Objective

I would like to design an original house and make a blueprint and concept art for it.  This will help me later in life when I become an architect.

Skill objective

The first skill that I am going to do is make an r2d2 arm.  This will help me with modeling houses in maya.

Big Goal

My big goal in life is to become an architect.  I have always like architecture and I really like the design process in it.  I am in a club where all that I do is make 3d computer models of buildings.  I also do a little bit of electrical engineering.
